Idlelad's Aire Valley Vista Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

IdleLad: After the previous DNF I checked on this one today. It seems some work has been done on the fence to the horses field. This has impacted on GZ and the cache has gone. Time to archive.

Geocache Description:

I am a retired local cricketer and have just completed my 100th find. I have decided to mark scoring a Century by placing my debut hide. It is located just off a Public Footpath connecting Westfield Lane in Idle to Low Ash Road in Wrose. It can be approached from either side however please note there is no access to vehicles so please find a safe place to park and walk to the Cache. Congratulations to Team mx on a FTF!!

You are looking for a small black tub containing logbook and room for small items and TB's. You will get a birds eye view of Windhill CC who unfortunately have folded since the cache was 1st placed. This location offers a fantastic view of the Aire Valley stretching from Saltaire across to Esholt.

South of Skipton the River Aire flows into the broad flood plain of the Aire Valley and then through the industrial towns of Keighley, Bingley, Saltaire and Shipley (in Bradford) where the river meets Bradford beck and then heads past Esholt, through Apperley Bridge and Leeds and then on in to the so called "Ouse Basin" at the southern end of the Vale of York en route to the Humber estuary on the Yorkshire coast, and the North Sea.
