The Boards Traditional Cache

The footpath down to Trowell Boards is hardly a first choice proposition for a Sunday afternoon stroll ! But just beyond the undergrowth and trees which obscure a railway embankment is the site of Trowell's former watermill ( Goodacre's Mill } and the River Erewash . Just a hundred or so yards further on is the Erewash valley railway which is close by the Erewash Canal which runs more or less parallel to it.

This is my first planted cache, hence making it relatively easy to locate. Parking is freely available close by in the village of Trowell.

The GZ locally nicknamed 'The Boards' the GZ is approx a 5minute walk from the main road in Trowell, not accessible by wheelchair or pushchairs as this does go off the main path partially across a field which sometimes may have cattle in so tread carefully along the path or you may end up treading in a cowpat.

The cache contains various bits and pieces and log book with pencils. The cache lid is a very tight fit and may not have been put on hard enough at first, I have since been down and located the missing lid and made sure that it is on tight and also has elastic bands around it just incase, please be sure to put it back this way.
