This little cache is localized in one of street staircases in Galashiels. Architectural features like that are characteristic for towns and cities localized on uneven ground, mountain slops or like in Galashiels in relatively narrow valley in between the hills. When you look closely to the state of stone steps you can imagine that this one must have been very busy in the past.
If you look around you can notice another interesting urban feature - remains of gas street lighting.
It may be ordinary and trivial place when you passing it every day. However I personally think this passage has ‘something’ in it. Especially when visited in gloomy rainy evening or after dark. Unfortunately the place is not always as cleaned as most of us wish; but there is no need for low level search.
