Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

The cemetery is somewhere at the end of the unpaved road here...but the gate is locked, so apparently there is no public access. However, you will easily be able to see the historical marker for this site.

There are 74 interments here, ranging from 1864 to 2004. Members of the Hays, Johnson, Smith, and Wilson families have been laid to rest here, along with numerous others. As always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
