This Geocache is placed in the popular Calmore area of Totton. "Calmore" is thought to derive from "Kale Moor" as the area was used ito grow Sea Kale (Cabbages) during Saxon times. Indeed there is evidence of extensive Saxon activity in the surrounding areas.
The first settlement in Calmore is thought to date back to pre-historic times.
Whilst in the area why not explore the local area? Testwood lakes is a great place for a picnic or alternatively why not walk along Salmon Leap?
Parking is available at GZ; as it's a built up area you need to keep an eye out for muggles but the area is fairly well hidden from general view.
A bus stop is within two minutes walk of GZ; a Blueline No 12 will take you there. The site is generally OK for wheelchairs but cars can park in front of the cache which may make access difficult.
It's a micro cache-and-dash and comprises a small plastic tube with white lid. It has a label on it indicating what it is. To remove it from its hiding place you may need to push it with your finger on one side and it will pop out of the other.
The cache contains a log sheet and a small pencil, inside a plastic bag; the contents may be difficult to remove so it's worth taking something you can hook it out with or a small pair of tweezers or whatever.
When replacing the contents make sure the log sheet is wrapped around the pencil as this makes it easier for the next geocacher.
Enjoy!
Update: Well done to Forest Fawns/Teamsurts for being FTF and thanks for all the positive comments. We deliberately kept this one simple as it was our first hide - we have more planned for the local area and intend to make them a bit more difficult!
