Geocache Description:

Cache on Mount Strachan's North Peak

The North Peak of Mount Strachan has an awesome 360° view at the summit, and dizzying dropoffs to the valleys below. There are several ways to get to the North Peak.

Sky Climb Trail - gravel service road up from Cypress Bowl, easiest grade, wide road, least interesting, in my opinion.
Old Mount Strachan Trail - old path through the forest, more direct, lots of rocks and roots - steep in some sections.
Christmas Gully - steepest climb, most exhiliarating adventure - climbs up beside the Montizambert Creek starting from Strachan Meadows along the Howe Sound Crest Trail.

A nice way to hike the North Peak is to combine the trails to make a loop - I like going up Christmas Gully Trail and down the Sky Climb Trail or up the Old Mount Strachan Trail and down the Sky Climb Trail.

Cache is a camouflaged container (size: a large small or a small regular) just off one of the many trails along the summit. Not accessible in winter due to snow and steep terrain.

In addition to the spectacular vistas, there is also a survey marker at N 49° 24.790 W 123° 11.589 if you like to look for things like that.

Happy hunting!

Congratulations to Mi-Jo for being first to find!
