A cache on the old road to Sfakia.
The road to the south from Imbros is an excellent new road. Things were not always like this and there are certain places you can stop and get a glimpse of how things used to be. This cache is at one such place. On our first trip to the island, the road clung to the edge of the mountains, and at every bend you were presented with amazing views but you were also very close to the edge of the dangerous cliffs. On our first trip down to Sfakia we were almost driven off the road and there were tears. On the way back up we saw a car which has just driven over the edge, on it's roof, with the tyres still spinning and the people climbing out up the rocks. I bet you're glad you are driving on the new road now. Enjoy the south coast of this beautiful island.
