Geocache Description:

This is one of eight caches placed as part of an exercise by the youth of Cheddar.

The track to the left will take you to the lower part of the Gorge. Here there is also an inn with 18th Century origins as an ale house serving an industrialised area of the village. The large building which can be seen opposite was shirt factory in the late 1800's and together with quarrying and lime burning there were a further two grist mills up stream. Follow the Daghole past the inn and the now gift shops were formally industrial workers cottages. You also get a good view of the lower Gorge from here.
