At one time the Grand Rapids area was host to a number of drive-in theatres. During the height of the Drive-In popularity in the 50s, there were more than 100 drive-in theatres in Michigan with 5 located in GR; by the 60s, the number had grown to 7. Sadly, this form of family entertainment has vanished in GR except in the memories of those fortunate enough to have experienced its wonder. Now each area is a muggle haven.
