This cache is not at the posted coordinates. The posted coordinates are the location of the Azimuth Mark for the Benchmark (BM) you will be seeking and they are along your route to this peak hide. You will need to do a little research to get the correct coordinates, hike to the peak, and then solve the field puzzle to locate this cache.
Although not the only possible parking spot I have provided my parking location as well as the location of the Azimuth Mark Disk here. To find this well hidden container you first must find the coordinates of the BM nearest the Azimuth Mark. Or you could skip some of the research and just hike to the posted coordinates and follow the arrow on the disk located there to the BM. You should find 4 bronze disks associated with this BM. While you do not have to find all four to solve the field portion of this puzzle you do need to find the correct 2. The 4 bronze disks are:
Azimuth Mark Disk
Reference Mark No1 Disk
Reference Mark No2 Disk
Triangulation Station Disk
Now to find the cache container; line up the Triangulation Disk with RM 2 and project from the Station along that bearing a distance of 6.666666667 Fathoms. There you have it; the cache is under that rock. Oh, there is NO CELL SERVICE at the final location so I hope you did some research before the hike.
This is a steep uphill hike to the ridgeline. Then along the hogback ridge to a second steep climb to the peak. This is a high desert location and as always when hiking in the desert bring plenty of water. Please watch for the critters that call this area home and let someone know where you are going as there is no cell service on the mountain.
