Standing at the listed coordinates and looking to the south-southwest on a clear day, one can see three long established south bay landmarks almost lined up. The following puzzle will reveal the coordinates of the cache location. I'll refer to the landmarks, in order from nearest to furthest, as 1st landmark, 2nd landmark and 3rd landmark. For the purposes of the puzzle, 1st landmark is the 4 word name that is associated with its location. 2nd landmark is the two word name of its location. 3rd landmark is the two word name of its location. No abbreviations. Assume 37 and 121 for the degrees, the following are in order:
- # of i's in the 1st landmark
- # of u's in the 3rd landmark X2
- # of i's in the 2nd landmark
- # of c's in the 1st landmark
- # of l's in the 2nd landmark
- # of t's in the 1st landmark + # of m's in the 3rd landmark
- # of h's in the 3rd landmark
- # of letters in the 3rd landmark ÷ 4
- # of m's in all 3 landmarks
- # of a's in all 3 landmarks X 4/3
Cache contains a log sheet only, bring a writing instrument. The difficulty rating is for locals, if you're not familiar with the landmarks, it goes up to about 3 1/2. I've added 3 spoiler images to the gallery.
Landmark 3 was finally opened to the public in September, 2017.
