Brinells högstadium

Skolområdets högsta byggnad är idag Brinell’s högstadium (7-9) men hette en gång i tiden Skansenskolan. Därefter har byggnaden under lång tid varit en del av Brinellgymnasiet till sommaren 2014 då Centralskolans verksamhet flyttades hit.

The highest building on the school premises is today Brinell’s högstadium (school year 7-9). In the beginning it was named Skansenskolan and then, for several years the building was part of the upper secondary school. In the summer of 2014 Centralskolan moved its operations from central Nässjö to this building.

Namnet Brinell är taget och syftar på Bringetofta socken i Nässjö kommun där Brinell föddes.

Brinell var verksam som forskare i Lesjöfors och Fagersta där han bland annat studerade stålframställning och bidrog till kraftigt till att stålets förädlingsprocess förbättrades.

Brinellprovaren var den första hårdhetsmätaren i världen som kombinerade praktisk metod med vetenskaplig teori. Brinellprovaren mäter hårdhet hos metaller genom att en härdad stålkula trycks med en känd kraft in i materialet som skall provas. Avtryckets diameter är ett mått på materialets hårdhet. Brinellprovaren visades på världsutställningen år 1900 i Paris

Johan August chose the name Brinell and it relates to Bringetofta parish in Nässjö municipality where he was born.

Brinell worked as a researcher in Lesjöfors and Fagersta where he studied steel production and contributed greatly steel refining process improvements.

Brinell hardness test was the first hardness meter in the world that combined practical methods with scientific theory. Brinell hardness test measures the hardness of metals by a 10 mm hardened steel ball is forced with a known pressure (often 3000 N) into the material being tested. The diameter of the impression is a measure of the hardness of the material. The Brinell test was displayed at the Paris exhibition of 1900.

D=antalet lampor (liknande gatulampor) på väggen mellan andra och tredje försterraden, samma byggnad hela sidan, addera bokstavens (husnamnet) plats i alfabetet

Räkna ut A-B och addera resultatet till nord-koordinatens decimaldel

Räkna ut C-D, multiplicera resultatet med 10 och addera till öst-koordinatens decimaldel

Exempel om A-B=2 (vilket det inte är) skulle N koordinaterna vara N57 40.051

Task description updated due to changes to the building.

To find the cache you need to count

A=number of windows on the second floor of the high, white building in front of you (the left and older part), just this side of the building

B=number of parking lots for disabled persons, just behind you

C=number of larger windows (with 1 or 2 glasses), same building and part of building

D=number of lamps on the wall (look like streetlamps) between window row 2 and 3, same building, both new and old parts, add the alphabetic place number of the letter (house name)

Calculate A-B and add the result to the decimal part of the N-coordinates

Calculate C-D, multiply the result with 10 and add to the decimal part of the E-coordinates

Example if A-B=2 (which it doesn't) then the N coordinates would be N57 40.051
