Over the last couple of years, I've searched for a fair few caches (and sometimes even found them!), but somehow never got round to placing one myself.
Here are some of the reasons (OK, excuses) why:
- I'm too busy,
- All the good spots in my area are already taken, and if I place one out of the area, how on earth am I going to maintain it if/when it gets muggled?,
- I've seen too many bad caches to just "throw down a container & hope for the best",
- I've not got the creativity to make a really cool container or an interesting hide, the inventiveness to come up with a really interesting puzzle, or the knowledge of local history that I'm burning to share with everyone, and
- All I have is a mobile phone, what if I place a cache with terrible coordinates and everyone mocks me - how will I live with the shame?
The above coordinates look OK on Google maps, and on my phone. If they're out, feel free to post alternatives, but they will get you to the general area (a bus stop at the top of the Ngaio Gorge).
With a previous cache in the area being archived, this location became available, and as I visit this almost every day, should be easy to keep an eye on and maintain.
This cache is best accessed coming down the hill. There is a little off- road parking close to GZ, but please park clear of the bus stop itself, and also the driveways. There is also some more parking about 30m further downhill if you overshoot. Please take care rejoining the traffic. Of course you could always use public transport to get here.......
The cache itself is now a Silver Bison Tube, with no room for trackables. Your task is to find it!
