Ericles: I spent years looking for a place to recreate one of my favorite hides "Out on a Limb" by White Whiskey. Before they removed the dam on the Raritan, you had to walk WAY out over the water to make the find. A fun find! Well, it's been 10 years now that this cache has been out there and the hiding tree has changed a good deal. Gone are the low branches that made getting up a 2.5 star climb. The downed tree where the final was hidden is almost completely rotted away. The backup tree was pretty rotted too thanks to the termite nest I disturbed. I stopped by yesterday to see what I could see but, in the end, I couldn't find EITHER stage so it's time for this one to retire. I didn't look for the first stage over land as I had found it back in 2020 so maybe the most recent finder did find something. Anywho, 10 years, 41 finds, 11 Favorite points (38% premium finds) and 3 maintenance visits plus a few additional tree-climbs just for the fun of it. If I ever find another spot like it, there might be yet another Out On A... until then, cache on!
