Il castello, risalente almeno al XIII secolo, è stato danneggiato durante le guerre napoleoniche, successivamente è andato in rovina e a metà ottocento è stato in gran parte smantellato dalla popolazione locale per reimpiegarne le pietre. È il soggetto di due acquerelli di Albrecht Dürer, che vi soggiornò nel 1495 circa. Il cache è stato nascosto nelle rovine del castello, da cui è possibile godere di un panorama sulla val di Cembra.

The castle, built at least in the 13th Century, has been damaged by cannon fire during the Napoleonic Wars; it fell into ruins, and was largely dismantled by the local populace to reuse its stones. It is depicted in two watercolour painting by Albrecht Dürer, who stayed as a guest in the castle around 1495. The cache is hidden in the ruins, from where you can enjoy a beautiful sight on the Val di Cembra.
