THE RED COW WANDERER
Allen Macpherson House, Napanee
As a young lawyer living in Napanee from 1832-34, John A. visited his step cousin, Allan Macpherson.
One Christmas, John A’s cousin Helen Macpherson presented John A.
and his friend with a banner for the “Society of the Red Cow”,
which the fun-loving young men formed after a red cow wandered into Hugh Macdonald’s homestead on Hay Bay.
