Come join us at the Greenhouse Pavillion in Thacher State Park for what I trust will be fun time amongst geocachers. The plan for the event is still taking shape and will be detailed in the months to follow. For now we shall keep it simple:
Event time: 09:30 AM - 6: 30ish PM
Potluck BBQ Lunch: 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
..............................Group Pic/ Geo-Raffle: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Fall Ball Tournament: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM ....ish
The "tournament" I am planning is simply a softball game amongst willing attendees at the event. To determine teams I will ask which region of upstate you are from (?). If we have enough players, we will put a Capital Region team up against a Glens Falls team. Attendees can decide which team they will play for the day of the event.
A geo-themed race, of sorts, is being brainstormed for the time before lunch. As of now, I can tell you it will be several stages, involve willing teams of two, and will incorporate the space in and around the pavillion space. Winners will be awarded prizes at the end of the event.

I will need volunteers to bring items for the potluck lunch. I will provided hamburgers, hotdogs, and buns. Just post a note with your " will attend" log stating what you can bring. Also will need volunteers to donate raffle items to be awarded at the end of the event.
So please mark you calender and plan on saying goodbye to the summer at Thacher Park.
