Here there used to be a crushed car (see photo) and the dichotomy between that overpowered vehicle and the power overhead lead to the cache title. Alas, the car has since been removed. The overhead power is the 350,000 volt DC direct connection between Benmore, near Timaru, in the South Island and Haywards, near Upper Hutt, in the North Island.
Note that the section of road from Underwood and White's Bay is unsealed. Best avoided when wet as it can get quite slippery. When dry this is an excellent road. This route from Blenheim to Picton can take 2-3 times longer than the direct route along SH1. More if you are caching along the way!
