This cache is a Letterbox Hybrid - which pays homage to an older kind of scavenger hunt, Letterboxing. To do a Letterbox you need a set of clues, a stamp and a notepad. Well, here I have included all three for you.
You can find this cache by using your GPS and going directly to the coordinates. Or, should you wish to experience the traditional method of Letterboxing, you can follow these set of clues which will lead you to the cache! The first is a map of the area you need to go, with trailhead marked as well as 'GZ' (ground zero). There are a number of clues on the map on how to find the cache once at GZ and how to know your in the right spot.
Secondly, you can print this photo of the final location and take it with you for recognition. GZ is marked on the picture as the final location for where the cache rests.
This Letterbox hybrid cache will have you on an expedition along the lesser seen and most scenic sections of Barwon River. This cache can only be reached by Kayak. The land either side is private.
Your navigational skills will need to be in tune. Whilst the river runs as one, one needs to make careful decisions when paddling towards reeds, rapids and fallen gums. I was able to complete this without needing to carry to yak over any obstacles.
On placing this cache, I sighted a number of Whistling Kites and a red fox who stopped for a drink.
The trip takes a couple of hours however is rewarding. Platypus are said to be in the Barwon. If one is lucky they may be seen.

The cache is a painted Ammo tin under wood and rocks on a small island on the bank.
