Geocache Description:

This is the first (and hopefully the beginning of a yearly occurrence) of the Greater Gainesville Caching Weekend.  The event will be held at Morningside Nature Center, a City of Gainesville Park with the majority of the social portions of the event located at this location.  There will be caches placed throughout parks and preserves around the area.

The Greater Gainesville Caching Weekend event will be on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 and the event will go from 10:30 AM until approximately 2:00 PM, although the park will be open until sundown for those that wish to stay at the park to socialize (or find the caches here).

There will be multiple things going on at the event at different times during the day.

There will be a kids cache passport with caches "hidden" throughout the nearby area. This will be accessible during the event only and will be non-published caches.

There will be a Geocaching 101 as a part of this event for new cachers at 10:45.  We hope to be able to get some interest and get some new folks here.

There will be a pot luck lunch at 11:30.  As a suggestion, if your caching name starts with....
A - E ==> Bring bread or sandwich buns.
F - L==> Bring Water; Sweet/Unsweet Tea; Sodas; Ice; Cups.
M - R ==> Bring Side Dishes like Baked Beans; Mac&Cheese; veggies or fruit.
S - Z ==> Bring a dessert.

At 12:30, there will be information about a FTF competition. There will be several caches that will not be published prior to the event. These caches will lead to a final that will have a prize for the FTF.

There will be an earthcache tutorial as a part of this event at 1:00.  Over the past couple years, there have been a number of new earthcaches that have popped up around the area and there may be more in time for this event.

Please let me know how many will be in your party so that I have an idea of how many people will be in attendance and have enough sandwich fixings for everyone.
