Pork:

• Iowa is America's leading pork producer, with over 21 million hogs in farms across the state at any given time. That's more than the next three states combined.
• Nearly one-third of the nation's hogs are raised in Iowa.
• The manure byproducts of 10 hogs, from weaning to market, can meet the nutritient needs of an acre of Iowa cropland on a semi-annual basis.
• One hog consumes approximately 9 to 10 bushels of corn from birth to a market weight of 275 pounds. At market-weight, the hog has approximately 150lbs of meat.
