RAGBRAI:

• The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa is the longest, largest and oldest bicycle touring event in the world.
• Over the course of the week, participants bicycle across the state from the west border to the east border.
• Upwards of 10,000 registered riders and 10,000 unregistered riders pedal each day of the week.
• Riders stop in towns along the way, where a festival atmosphere takes over as locals share their town's traditions and riders seek out food or souvenirs.
• Host communities have campgrounds and concerts for riders. Smaller overnight towns see their population double or even quadruple for the night.

Geocachers are known to bike-n-cache along the route.
