Live After Death is a stunning double album recorded on the US leg of Iron Maiden's legendary World Slavery Tour in the mid 1980's. Many fans rate this as one of the best live albums by any band in any era. Certainly a formative influence on our music tastes here at the TwoSharpe household.
More recently the tour and props were recreated in 2008 for a staggering world tour including a sensational gig in Christchurch. This later tour was the subject of a great film entitled Flight 666 which followed the band around the world from India to Australia and Japan and South America then to the US, Europe and beyond. They had their own plane decked out in Iron Maiden artwork, and most remarkably piloted by lead singer Bruce Dickinson, himself a fully fledged commercial pilot. The plane, known as Ed Force One (after US Presidents Air Force One) cut a fine shape on the tarmac at airports all around the world, including Christchurch.
Scream for me Christchurch, Up The Irons!!!
