Geocache Description:

This Cross Park fishing hole along the Clackamas River is dedicated to Sander Wayne Johnson, Jr. a local fisherman who used to come to this spot. If you see the memorial posted on the tree you are very close to the cache. The cache is no more than a couple of feet from the trail.

On August 8, 2015 Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory, in collaboration with a lot of great volunteers from the local geocaching community, launched the Cache the Stash Coin Challenge (CtS). The CtS was a six community challenge that was created to celebrate 15 years of geocaching. Which, as most of you know, is an activity that started right here in Clackamas County. The kick-off event was the largest geocaching event held in Oregon to date. If you were there for it thank you for coming. Cachers who completed all six community challenges received a set of coins that fit together to form a nifty cube which can be seen in all its glory here – https://www.mthoodterritory.com/plan-your-trip/cache-the-stash.

It’s been over two years since we kicked off the CtS and activity has slowed considerably on the caching trail. It is with a bit of sadness that we have decided to retire the challenge as of Sept. 30, 2017. The coins are gone but some of the caches remain for your enjoyment.

Cache on friends!

DESCRIPTION:

To celebrate 15 years of geocaching Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory has created the Cache the Stash Challenge (CtSC) in the home of geocaching, the place where it all began The CtSC is actually a series of six community coin challenges that will be launched the morning of Saturday, Aug. 8th, 2015. Five hundred (500) coins have been minted for each of the six community challenges (Canby, Damascus, Estacada, North Clackamas, Sandy, West Linn). All six coins will fit together to for a puzzle cube. It's pretty cool... You can check it out here.

Here are the caches for North Clackamas challenge.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Find the caches for each of the community challenges.
  2. Log them.
  3. Write down the code word found in each cache container on the corresponding Code Sheet/Passport.
  4. When you've completed a community challenge, or the entire CtSC, fill out the rest of the information on the Code Sheet/Passport and redeem it to claim your coin(s).
  5. In the event that a community cache is missing, or a cacher is unable to physically access a cache, up to three (3) non-challenge local area caches may be substituted. Instead of writing a code word on the log sheet, you are to write the GC # of the substitute cache(s).

Copies of individual Code Sheets are available on-line.

Locations to redeem Code Sheets for coins are listed HERE.

Note - We respectfully request that coins be limited to one per household. For a full list of CtSC Rule click here.
