Watch for muggles! The bus stop is busy before and after school and listen carefully for vehicles as they may appear unexpectedly from either direction.
The phrase 'by hook or by crook' comes from the custom in medieval England of allowing peasants to take from royal forests whatever deadwood they could pull down with a shepherd's crook or cut with a reaper's billhook. Of course we now use the expression to mean "by any means necessary". Either use could be applicable to this cache but the local muggles would prefer it if you didn’t cut anything down with a reaper’s billhook.
Look up hook in the dictionary and it says, amongst other things; "A thing designed to catch people’s attention:"
