Geocache Description:

A country hall with a history.

This hall was first  built in 1922,  further up the road nearer to the then Koputaroa Railway station and the little community that was there.    This hall burnt down in 1937  and was rebuilt the same year using donated materials and voluntary labour. The stage in the hall was added 2 years later.

It was moved down to beside the school in 1997 on land from the Mitchell family where it now used by the school and local community.

Inside the hall there is a  display of the World War II Honours' board. The cache  is a common style  around buildings,  but not a Skindo style .  It is strongly advised that you enter the car park on the left side according to the arrows and use the car as a cover as it is close to a the school.  This also means that there are times when  the students are around about playing or waiting to picked up after school etc., or the hall is being used.  Cover with litter  of which there is plenty at this time of the year (winter).
