Orzeł Piastowski wysokości 8 m i rozpiętości skrzydeł 10 m został wykonany wg projektu architekta Tadeusza Tellera. Orzeł upamiętnia tysiąclecie państwa polskiego oraz powrót ziem zachodnich do Polski. Jego odsłonięcie miało miejsce 12 października 1971 r.
