• Elijah Wood, best known for his role as Froddo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, was born Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he spent most of his childhood.
• Has stared in other films such as Radio Flyer, The Good Son, and Flipper, and the television series Wilfred. ​

• Branond Routh, best known for his role as Superman in the 2006 movie Superman Returns, was born and raised in Norwalk, Iowa.
• Routh has recently appeared as superhero The Atom on the television shows Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow.

• George Reeves, who played the first Superman on television, was born in Woolstock, Iowa.
