  • Kate Mulgrew, born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa, played the role of Captain Kathryn Janeway in the TV Series Star Trek: Voyager.
  • Terry Farrell, born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, played the role of Jadzia Dax in the TV Series Star Trek: Deep Space 9.
