  • Professional opera singer Simon Estes was born and raised in Centerville, Iowa.
  • His professional career began in Europe in the 1960s. He has performed with opera companies around the world.
  • He has sung in front of popes, presidents, and royalty.
  • Estes has developed concert programs for Iowa students to contribute to humanitarian efforts to fight HIV/AIDS globally and malaria in Africa.
