Fort Des Moines & Camp Dodge:
- Fort Des Moines is a military installation that was the training location for African American officers during World War One and Womens Army Corps in World War Two. The site is now an Army Reserve center.
- Camp Dodge is the Iowa National Guard's main training site. It was federalized for both WW1 & WW2 to train soldiers.
