One of the most infamous and horrible incidents in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was the Danziger Bridge shootings. In the immediate distance to your Northeast is the Danziger bridge. Six days after Katrina, police shot 6 unarmed civilians on this bridge, 2 of which died. The two who died were brothers, one of whom was mentally disabled and shot in the back. The police then tried to cover up the incident through false reports and statements.
