Geocache Description:

There is a proposal to construct a public lake to the south of this location and local proponents parked a large barge in the motor bike and karting area in 2011 to draw attention to the proposal. After several studies the local council has so far baulked at the annual costs to pump water from the Burdekin River to ‘Lake Mosman’. Whether it ‘floats your boat’ or not it would change the area – and well Richmond has one! Which is just the start of the ‘argy bargey’.

The cache is a screw top container with log, pencil, a small 15yr geocaching souvenir (un-activated for FTF) and a couple of frogs holding out for the lake. It is on the road side of the fence.

FTF was Rusty 410.

Update August 2017 - a lake is planned for Hughenden as well !

Update October 2017, there are plans for a property developer to construct a smaller lagoon nearby with help from the council, it is not a lake though so the boat may still be grumpy?
