Although the railway line never crossed Pollards Road, it provides good views of the railway embankment as it snakes its way between McKnights Road and Nuggetty Road. From the cache site a very large gap can be seen in the embankment - the site of one of the largest trestle bridges on the line which unfortunately fell victim to the bushfires which closed the railway. It would be an impressive sight if it was still standing today. The creek that the bridge crossed doesn't seem to have an official name, but it is one of the tributaries of Bradford Creek.
I thought I had previously snapped pictures of 'The Gap' but it seems not as I couldn't find any, so the cache page will have to be deprived of photos until I need to perform maintenance on the cache!
Enjoy!
