Geocache Description:

Gather at location for 7pm for an evening campfire, look for geocaching sign/logo. Aiming to finish up by about 9pm or slightly earlier. If you would like to cook dinner on the fire, feel free to come earlier. I hope to get the fire going by about 530pm. We will still gather if there is a fire ban, fingers crossed for good weather.

BYO; lawn chair, bug repellant, campfire eats, (or come earlier with dinner to cook) roasting sticks, personal drink/adult beverage, and anything else you think is good. There'll be songs (no musical talent required) participation is encouraged. Bring any TB's you wish to get discovered or traded. Earn your Geocaching road trip souvenir for event cache.

This location is inside a National Park. A National Park pass / entry fee is required. There are three entrances to the park. South gate accessible from the yellowhead, North gate near the town of Lamont, or the sometimes tricky to get to West gate accessible from dirt range roads. After entering the park, you are looking for the Astotin lake area, beach and parking lot (not the golf course). Geo-dogs can come but owners need to abide by all park rules. Geo-kids can also come (playground nearby), but parents need to abide by rules. Flush toilet washrooms are not too far away. No dogs are allowed in the washrooms.
