Brighton Ghost Train Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Serratia_rubidaea: After the recent DNF, I visited the cache site with a replacement in hand.
The cache was indeed missing, but I decided not to replace it because I saw a lot of drug related paraphernalia in the area (needles etc).
I'm very sorry to have to archive this, it's really a great location but unfortunately ruined by a few people [:(]

Geocache Description:

This cache is located on a disused railway bridge that has become a greenway path, The Northern Greenway, which links New England Road and Boston Street/Stroudley Road. There are steps leading up to the bridge from New England Road.

The cache commemorates a two dimensional steel sculpture of a Steam locomotive, the Jenny Lind, which was installed on the bridge in 2013. It was created by local sculptor Jon Mills. The Jenny Lind locomotive was one of ten steam locomotives built in 1847 for the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway, and was named after a famous opera singer of the period. The general design proved to be very successful and it became the first mass-produced locomotive type.

There are some brambles growing near the cache so please be careful.
