Geocache Description:

This cache is nestled near the edge of the Indian River Lagoon in Marina Park. Its a camoflauged water bottle in a location thats easy to get to and offers an AMAZING view.

Marina Park

Located north of the Titusville Marina, the facilities at this 20.35-acre community riverfront park include a boat ramp and dock, softball fields, concession, and restrooms. It is currently home of North Brevard Youth Softball Association until the athletic fields at Chain of Lakes Recreation Complex are complete. Besides active sports, shoreline fishing along the Indian River is a popular pastime.

This cache is nestled in this park in an area that offers you an AMAZING view into the history of mankind’s travels.  From left to right you will see a microcosm of man’s world.

First, to the left is the unspoiled Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge and Mosquito Lagoon.  Florida and nature as it was when we began.  Pan next to the Indian River Lagoon, part of the Intercostal Waterway.  One of man’s first super HI ways.  Upon it, man has traversed the eastern coast for millennia, and one can depart from its harbors for all parts of the globe. Note also the historic railroad draw bridge. Across this travelled cou tless pieces of space hardware. Pieces like the shuttle solid rocket boosters. Space ship parts on the steel rails that formed the spine of America's great industrial growth.

Look across the masts and rigging of the moored sail boats.  The first mode of travel that allowed man to circle the earth.  Cloth and wood used this way is what the original explorers expanded the reach of mankind with.

In the distance, the Max Brewer bridge. It connects the city that went to the moon to the natural world we came from.  Providing access to cars, our next big step.  From this angle, you can see the true beauty of this bridge between worlds.

Through the spans you will be looking over the runway that provided harbor for our winged ships the space shuttle.  Man went from first flight to space shuttle in only 78 years. The largest technological leap ever!

Beyond that in the near distance is the incredible Vehicle Assembly Building, and the 2 launch pads that started mankind’s greatest exploration...THE MOON.  Standing tall in all its glory still today.

In the far horizon is the launch pads that put the first Americans in space and sent Voyager out of our solar system and Cassini-Huygens to explore Saturn. Also from that launch complex man sent our incredible robotic explorers Sprit, Opportunity and their big brother Curiosity to the surface of Mars!  Amazing! These are but a few of the pioneering probes and satellites launched to the new frontier from the area before your eyes here!

From this cache you can gaze through the entire spectrum of man’s explorative history.  It’s all there in one scenic view.  The land as it was, the city that went to the moon and the buildings that made it all happen!

The cache is a camouflaged water bottle hidden well for you to try to discover.  If you should discover it, please replace it as you found it for the next explorer!  ENJOY and take a good long look at the history! Congratulations RamenNoodles!! FTF 5 July 2015
