This short blue-blazed spur trail in James Baird State Park just connects the road with one of the shelters. It has no particular scenic value and isn't even long enough to elevate your heart rate, so I thought I'd provide a reason for its existence. The cache is off the trail a bit, and in fact is closer to the road than the trail, which means that if you want to, you can cheat yourself out of even the minimal amount of exercise obtained by starting from the parking area and trailhead listed below. But if you don't, this will make a good warm-up before embarking on the somewhat longer walks required to reach the other caches in the park.
This cache placed in accordance with the procedures specified by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation under permit number 7241599 issued by James Baird State Park.
