There is safe parking at the end of the Bridge on the SE side. This bridge was quite the accomplishment in its time, and the memorial plaques reference that the military was part of the creation of the bridge. Well worth learning about. The view from the bridge in both directions is well worth the walk on the part designated for pedistrians.
