D3 Challenging
An experienced geocache hunter will find this challenging, and it could take up a good portion of an afternoon.

Now the fun will start, since this is a power trail this will not take up a good portion of you afternoon, but it will take some longer than others. This cache is very similar to the last one but taken to the next level.  You will need a much better understanding of how to use a GPS since this cache will take you a good ways off the trail. This cache will also introduce two new geocache tricks, camouflage and red herrings.

Camouflage is more important in urban caching to protect the cache from muggles finding it unintentionally. In a wooded area like this it is use just to make it more difficult. Camouflage could be simply painting the cache the color of its surroundings ore making it out of an item that is abundant at the location. Examples might be fake pine cones or fake rocks.

Red Herrings or Decoys are cache looking items or containers that do not contain the log book; they may be places around the cache to confuse cachers. Decoys should be labeled as decoys or red herons so that finder knows to keep looking. Sometimes weird items will be places around cache just to throw you off, eye hooks or tie wraps on branches, you might think you found the remnants of a broken or muggled (stolen) cache, but it might just be a decoy, keep looking. Finding a Red Herring does not count as finding a cache, you need to find the Log Book and sign it in order for a ‘find’ to be real.
