Geocache Description:

A nice little drive down a side road from Highway 17 just outside of Cobden will bring you to this park and grab.

I've passed by this road on the highway many, many times but never had taken the time to venture off the highway onto this "road less traveled". There are a few cottages/homes at the end of MacFarlane Road which are private property and therefore, there is no public access to Muskrat Lake.

If you look out onto Lily Bay from GZ, you can see a good sized beaver lodge. I didn't see any evidence of the beaver's building material having been gathered at the cache location but there is a lot of driftwood from the spring thaw. It looks like the water level would be elevated in the spring, but the cache is placed high enough that this shouldn't present a problem in accessing the cache container.

When I placed the cache, I could hear frogs and marshbirds in the marsh on the south side of the roadway, and flushed a Great Blue Heron from the reedy area in the bay. Photos are NOT necessary but are always welcome.

Congratulations to Dead Chuffed on being the FTFr. Happy to help you out with your Timmy's fund!
