Geocache Description:

Join us for some friendly conversations and sharing of Geocaching experiences. This is a great opportunity to meet area Geocachers.

If you are not already caching, this is the time to learn more about this game we love. There should be a mixture of novice and experienced cachers to visit with.

At my Winter event last February many asked if we could get together again in the summer. Here it is!
I guarantee there will be no risk of snow storms for this one.

WHAT: Tri-State Area Meet, Greet and Eat 10
WHEN: Sunday August 9, 2015
TIME: Noon - 3 p.m.
WHERE: The Grant Room at Happy Joe's (Pizza and Ice Cream)
9919 US Hwy 20 West, Galena, IL

Food is available. Each cacher is responsible for their own meals. You are not required to eat. They have a full menu and there is also an all you can eat Sunday brunch from 11 am til 2 pm.

Please make a "will attend" log so we can get a head count for the restaurant. After attending make sure you log an "attended log" to get credit for this as a find.

Everyone is welcome to come visit with other cachers and put faces to the names we see in the logs.

Please bring along your GPSr. This will be a good time to see what equipment others are using, and maybe get some helpful hints on how to make caching easier and more fun. Of course there will be time before and after the meet to find some of Galena's fine caches. Hints will be available for those elusive caches that you may have already had problems finding.

There will be a Log In table at the entrance to the Grant Room.

There may also be a Travel Bug Table.  Do not take Bugs and Coins if you do not plan on logging them online. If you don't know how to log TBs and Geocoins, please ask. There will be many people at the meet that can explain this fun part of Caching.

Should be Door Prizes! I have some items to give away - not as many as usual since I don't have time in the summer. Anyone else is welcome to bring some too. I have adopted the G-4 caches and am getting them back in shape.

As usual, I plan on placing at least one new cache to be published on the 9th for those who like to get FTFs.

Please watch the logs for more information as it develops.

If you don't already have your Road Trip Souvenir for an event this is another opportunity.

See you there.
Kirk F
