Geocache Description:


Several Washington municipalities have joined in a pilot program to conduct what might be the ultimate in recycling -- waste water treatment plant sludge. The gunk left over is transported to areas where reforestry programs are underway, and spread in the area in the same way dairy farmers dispose of excess manure from their dairy herd. This technique has proven to have great benefits in increasing timber production as well as helping to stabilize the soil through added organic matter and nutrients.
