Geocache Description:

This cache is located close to the municipal offices of the Town of Whitby and also in a green space that is filled with memorial trees and benches, another of the Town's services. Take a minute to read some plaques and admire the landscape given by this space as you search for the cache.

Tree and Bench Program

Welcome to Wonderful Whitby!! A town that was founded in 1855 and is currently home to approxiamtely 125 000 individuals, participates in the Communities in Bloom seasons and is just a absolutely wonderful place to live. A part of the GTA and only about 45 minutes from the city, Whitby hosts a multitude of services, shops, and events -- including those for the Pan-Am Games in 2015! With access to a beautiful waterfront and Lake Ontario and the Waterfront Trail, it host over 950 acres of park space to enjoy. A part of the Durham Region Transit system and also with a GO Transit station, getting around is easy.
