Geocache Description:

Mud Lane, on the wet side of Waimea (Kamuela).  The road is paved.  It's 1.8 miles from the junction with the "belt road" to the end of the county road.  Mud Lane continues on past the end of the pavement, but you need not proceed further to find this cache.

"Mud Lane" describes this road at it used to be.  It was used as a mule road to transport goods from Waimea to Waipi`o Valley and back again.  These days it's paved and makes a very nice hike.  Most of the way it's shaded by big eucalypts on both sides; you can imagine the smell.  At certain times of the year (like now), there are also ginger blooming, filling the air with their scent.  So this is a feast for the eyes, but also the nose.  You can either park along the road somewhere and hike, or drive all the way to the cache.  I hiked it; it's about 3.6 miles round trip.  If you hike the whole length to the end of the county road, expect to take 2 hours if you're an average hiker.  The road is downhill, but not all that steep in most places.  A very pleasant place to walk.

The cache is in a watertight black box.  I tried to get the coordinates right, but my GPS kept jumping around so you may need to rely on the hint.
