Geocache Description:

Jehu Scudder, an early settler on the Peninsula, donated the land for Lone Fir Cemetery and became the first grave in the cemetery in 1854, when he was killed on the way to the first Territorial Legislature. A number of early residents of the Peninsula are buried here. At one time the cemetery contained a large fir tree, after which the cemetery was named. The old tree eventually became a hazard, and by the 1960s had to be removed.

As with all caches placed on cemetery grounds -- please do not cache after dark or when other visitors are present. The cache is not placed near a gravesite and no disturbance of the landscaping is required to find the cache.
