Geocache Description:

Inventor Geoff Greene dedicated the past 17 years to finding a clean, low-maintenance, economically efficient method of harnessing the power of the mighty Mississippi River to deliver energy into the Tennessee electrical grid.

We have spent many hours at this place and have seen this but never got close enough to figure it out.  Today we took the small hike to look and were surprised delighted with what we found.

This cache is located at a well known public place.  There is plenty of parking.  Both Cajun and I are always on the lookout for interesting pieces of local history and art to share with our caching friends.  We placed the cache so that you MUST approach from the parking lot adjacent to the cache.  This is NOT wheelchair accessible at all, however it is an easy walk. Short but in the grass.  This is actually a rather significant contribution to Memphis history.  Whoda thunk it?
