Geocache Description:
This will be the 9th edition of the annual Labour Day Weekend Event.
This year's version of the Lake Melville Community Cache Event is being held at the Labrador Christian Youth Camp. We've got the camp for the entire weekend so if you're coming from away, simply pop a sleeping bag and pillow in the car and come on over. You'll save on hotels. We can accommodate ~25 in the different cabins and there are kitchen facilities on site so we can cook our own meals. There's a beach so if the weather is nice we can take advantage of it to go for a swim.
The Lake Melville area has lots of caches available; some are easy, some require some climbing. The camp is across from the Birch Brook Cross Country Ski Club and it seems that every trail has a cache. Great exercise and some great views along with nice caches!
The Event will officially start at 2 p.m. Sunday with the signing of the log book and continue through the afternoon and conclude with a BBQ supper. Bring what you want to cook and we'll supply the fixin's.
This will be the perfect occasion to talk about the caches we've found during the summer and share ideas for bigger (please!
) and better caches.
GEOCOINS & TRAVEL BUGS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO JOIN IN THE FUN. There will be a table where everyone can view TBs and coins for trading, discovering and grabbing.
