OAHT 1502: Champion Field Park
The game of baseball has always been a very popular sport played in Oconomowoc from the late 1800’s and still today. In 1877 the Oconomowoc Brown Stockings won against the Oconomowoc White Stockings in a championship game and became the Waukesha County Champs!
1908 – 1910 the Oconomowoc Businessman’s Ball Club operated
1922 – The Land O’ Lakes Baseball League was established.
1923 – The Oconomowoc Land O’ Lakes team was crowned Champion. The game was played at Armory Field, which is located behind the Oconomowoc Area Museum. Today the field is home to the Oconomowoc 5 O’s of the Land O’ Lakes league and other local teams.
At this location Champion Field Park, is a 19-acre community park located in the west-central portion of the City. It is home to two lighted softball diamonds, one intermediate size baseball diamond, a soccer field and a flag football field.
