Matthew Henson was the first African American Arctic Explorer, which kind of makes him like a geocacher in the winter climates here. The park named after him is a greenway along the Turkey Branch of Rock Creek. The park runs from Aspen Hill to Layhill, Maryland, linking the Rock Creek Trail with the Sligo Creek Trail.
Cache is located on a side trail off the Matthew Henson Trail heading to a neighborhood. This place is a great location to sit and relax by the water. Grab this one on your water break and stick your feet in the creek on a warm day! Remember to hide the cache in the same place or better than when you found it
